The Mars Planet Foundation is an approved Educational Improvement Organization (EIO).
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program provides tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to Scholarship Organizations (including pre-kindergarten scholarship organizations) and Educational Improvement Organizations, in order to promote expanded educational opportunities for students in Pennsylvania.
The Educational Improvement Organization would be the "Mars Planet Foundation" for the Mars Area School District. This program requires the Department of Revenue to give Pennsylvania businesses tax credits if they make a contribution to a Scholarship or Educational Improvement Organization.
To qualify for this tax credit, businesses must donate cash, personal property or services to a Scholarship or Educational Improvement Organizations. The amount of tax credit that a business receives is dependent on the type of entity to which they make a donation.
Provide funds to promote instruction in robotics, coding, engineering, and project development.
Provide funds to improve and/or replace technology used to enhance learning for daily instruction of students.
Incentivize students taking Advanced Placement (AP) Courses to take the subsequent AP exam. Students will be reimbursed on the following schedule:
4+ Full exam fee (up to $100)
3 50% exam fee (up to $50)
< 3 No reimbursement
Incentivize students participating in College in High School (CHS). Mars Area High School partners with the Butler County Community College (BC3) to offer a College within the High School (CHS) program, offering students the opportunity to:
*Take BC3 courses and earn college and high school credit for them at the same time *Transfer BC3 credits that satisfy general education requirements at four-year colleges
